Welcome to my blog! It does not matter if you are a cozy mystery fan already or are interested in the genre, I'm here for you. I share your love of the “cozy” with its wholesome approach to weaving tales of murder and mayhem without all the graphic details.

Here at the Amateur Sleuth Book Club, I post reviews of the first book in a cozy mystery series to help you find one that will get you hooked! Devoted cozy readers have multiple series that they follow faithfully, but then it happens – you read all the way to the end of the current series and must wait for the next book to be released. What do you do then? You move over to the other series that you read. 


For those new to cozies, this site is designed with you in mind. I review the first book in a series to help you decide which series may be one you want to start. 


If you already love the cozy mystery genre, I can help you find an alternative series to read while you wait for your favorite author to grace you with their newest offerings.

Have a look at the first post on the History of the Mystery series “What is a Cozy Mystery?” This will give you an overview of what cozies are and how they stand out from the general mystery genre and other specific mystery genres, such as police procedurals or hard-boiled detective series.
